Okay, so I am combining my posts for day 3 of both of the Wilton classes that I took because I got a bit behind on here. Day 3 of class number one was mainly spent learning how to make and practicing making a few different types of flowers. I loved making the sunflowers. It reminded me of being back home in beautiful Kansas and seeing fields and fields of sunflowers. That is seriously one of the amazing views that I have ever seen. But anyway, here are the pictures of the treats I decorated for day three. They looked a bit better before they melted on the way home. :)
Alrighty, so day 3 of of course number 2 was spent making lilies with royal icing. Royal icing is nice because it dries and gets hard like candy so when you form your flowers and other decorations, you can let them dry and then place them on your cake at a later time. These lilies were pretty neat but I have to say that this was not my favorite task. Here is a picture of how they turned out.
Sadly, some of these turned out better than others. Removing them from the foil also proved to be rather difficult. A few did survive though as you will see in my next post that shows my final cakes! :)
